NYSMRDDNA Scholarship

One $1000 scholarship will be awarded by the NYS ID/DD Nurses Association to encourage nurses to explore or remain in the field of ID/DD nursing and also support new nursing students who come from a background of work with ID/DD individuals.

An Eligible Applicant is:

1. An LPN currently matriculating in an accredited RN program in New York State.
2. A NY State resident.
3. A person who is currently working or has previously worked in the field of ID/DD.

or

1. A nursing student matriculating in an accredited RN program in NY state.
2. A NY State resident.
3. A person who is currently working or has previously worked in the field of ID/DD.

Applicants must submit:

1. A resume which includes educational and work experiences and
2. An essay of not more than 500 words explaining their future educational and professional goals.

Scholarship award for 2010 will be presented at the fall state conference. Applications must be received by April 1, 2010.
